ABOUT BIOTA PET CARE
Making life easier for Orangeville pet parents.

AT BIOTA PET CARE,
our mission is simple: to make life better for pets and their people.
We’re not just here to walk dogs or scoop litter boxes (though we do that really well). We’re all about showing up with expertise, professionalism and a genuine passion for animal welfare—every service, every time.
While we serve Orangeville, Ontario, our commitment to the broader community runs deep. We even donate a portion of our proceeds to Cats Anonymous Rescue and Adoption in East Garafraxa, a cause near and dear to our team.

FUN FACT!
Biota is the scientific word for “the animal and plant life of a region”
A little nod to our love of science, critters and, of course, all things local!

Hi, I’m Raina!
OWNER AND ANIMAL WHISPERER
As an animal lover my whole life, I can honestly say I’m livin’ the dream! I've had pets from day one: cats, dogs, fish, a bunny, a hamster, even a snake. I'd have a full zoo if I could!
โ
My passion for animal care began when I was about five and my dad rescued Shiloh, a tiny abandoned kitten whose eyes weren’t even open yet. I helped care for him, even tucking stuffed animals into his bed to keep him company. That love only grew, especially when our cat Bebe had multiple litters—and I got way too attached to every kitten! (Because how can you not?)

In college/university, I pursued environmental science to help protect and restore the land animals live on. After graduating, I spent two years working as an ornithologist (aka bird researcher). (FYI, I’m still a huge bird nerd.)
โ
It wasn’t until early 2020 that I discovered pet sitting could be a career. That March, I began fostering a dog through Save Our Scruff, and everything clicked. I knew then that caring for animals full-time was my path. That’s when Biota Pet Care was born!

Stephanie W.
PET CARE PROFESSIONAL
I’ve got a big heart for animals, especially my sassy two-year-old chihuahua who rules the house. I live in lovely Orangeville with my husband and our adventurous daughter. When I’m not caring for furry friends, you’ll find me outside soaking up nature, gardening or getting crafty with a DIY project. Plants, pets and play—those are my happy places!

Fave part about working with animals? That moment when you first win them over and they start to show you affection. It’s incredibly rewarding to earn their trust and build bonds with each pet!
โ
Which animal would you be and why? A cat! I’d love to stretch out in the sun, curl up in a garden patch and purr the day away. Sounds like the perfect mix of nature, relaxation, and a little exploration!

Monica O
PET CARE PROFESSIONAL
Hi, I’m Monica! I am what you would consider an avid animal-lover. When I’m not cuddling, playing and of course caring for your furry (or not) friends, I can be found out-and-about with my two dogs! I live in Orangeville with my parents as I’m currently completing my BA for Psychology at the University of Guelph with a major in Psychology!. In my free time I love to hike, bake, read and play hockey!
โ
Fave part about working with animals? I feel much more comfortable with animals and I always enjoy seeing their furry faces!
โ
Which animal would you be and why? A whale so I can explore the ocean without fear.
